Wild Beauty & Whale Action at Wilsons Promontory
It was another week of wild beauty and whale action at Wilsons Prom, with 62 humpback whales spotted across six trips, as well as dolphins and seals getting in on the action.
Over the past week we’ve seen it all with whales breaching, mugging, and tail-slapping across multiple trips. From pods under the Wilsons Prom lighthouse to whales cruising past Rag Island. There has been an influx of of calves traveling with their mothers/escorts, and dolphins joining on several occasions, adding to the excitement.
Seals, gannets and shearwaters keeping the scene lively and each day on the water different from the last. Navigating various weather conditions, from calm sunny breaks to windier, wilder days.
There may only be a few weeks left in the season, but the whales clearly aren’t done yet. It’s a fantastic time to experience the energy and wildlife of Wilsons Prom.
