Whales, marine life and amazing scenery
It’s been another spectacular week of whale and wildlife encounters on our Wilsons Promontory cruises. Across four 6-hour cruises, our guests and crew spotted a total of 33 whales, including one calf, a truly special sighting!
The action wasn’t just below the surface. Passengers also enjoyed sightings of a range of seabirds and marine life, with highlights including the striking Australasian Gannet and agile Terns (pictured above).
Beyond the wildlife, this cruise is also a window into the stunning, rugged beauty of Wilsons Prom. Our knowledgeable captains and crew love sharing stories and insights about the local landscape and its rich natural history. One standout is the Prom Lighthouse, an iconic landmark best seen either by undertaking the overnight hike or from the unique perspective of the sea.
All the incredible images from the past week, showcasing both wildlife and scenery, were captured by Citizen Science Photographer Benjamin Eriksson.
